A Guide To Scandinavian Customs and Cuisine

“If you’re going to do Scandinavian food, do Scandinavian food.” -  says Chef Marcus Samuelsson on scandinavian Food.
Okay, so what is Scandinavian food? “It’s typically minimalist,” he says. He explains that it’s reflective of much in the culture. “Very simple. You see simple art, simple furniture, and simple food preparations.” In fact, he compared the food to Japanese food. Both are tied closely to the sea, and, “the thought processes behind them are very similar. We may use Arctic char; they’ll use tuna. We may cure with sugar and salt, where they’ll use saki.”
